Refund after death

Terrible customer service with the billing department. My mother passed end of October.

I contacted them a few days later to shut down the service and they still billed November.

They will not refund Novembers payment because they claim its past 90 days of cancellation even though I called multiple times for the refund. Stay away from this company, they are terrible!!

I got it because I lived alone and due to medical status needed to make sure if I needed help, I would have it. Other than a 'oops I hit the button' incident, in the nearly 4 yrs I've had it, not once have I utilized it.

Sounds like a great deal and I'm sure for some its truly a lifesaver, however for me, it is just a massive drain on my bank account. I can't, for sure, tell you it's worth the massive cost because for me, definitely not. After my family signed me up we found at least 2 other options that were cheaper with way better services/reviews. Simple Google search.

If you cancel your contract before the 3 yrs, you have to pay a big fee. I'm just starting the cancellation process so I'll have to get back to you on that but can say they transferred me a few times to different departments then tried lowering the price and asked me why I was canceling. I told them I no longer live alone and am physically doing much better. His retort was to ask if I'm living with a family member.

That caught me off guard. Seemed an odd question to ask but I said 'no, a significant other'. He then tells me that it's a good system for everyone, all ages and then something about if you're ever alone again it's easier if the system is there and ready. I get what he was saying but it just weirded me out talking to a customer service agent about my personal relationships.

I don't know maybe its just me. Anyhow after he tried everything to get me to stay all he did was schedule a pickup date for UPS (apparently their partner) to pickup the equipment. They do not provide the box. You have to pack everything up and wait from apparently 9am-5pm to make sure UPS picks up the unlabeled box.

He said they will have the shipping label and just to put the box where the driver can see it. Oh and that they'd ring the doorbell.

That's all I have right now. Stay tuned...

My experience was fine. I just found out that I have a similar service that comes with my health insurance for FREE. I will mail the equipment in as soon as possible. I don't have a box big enough to send the equipment to you yet.
