I pressed my Life Alert and an ambulance with EMT and a fire engine were there within ten minutes

My friend was not answering her phone all day. Her daughter called me as I had access to her house. Went around and found her on the bathroom floor, unable to get up. She said she had been there for about 8 hours. I did not want to move her, although I knew she hadn’t the strength - in case she had an injury - so I pressed my Life Alert and an ambulance with EMT and a fire engine were there within ten minutes. The EMT assessed and moved her to a sitting stretcher and took her to the hospital, where she had to remain for about 2 weeks before moving to a nursing home and then home again. As the fire engine was just turning the corner to get back to the station, they discovered an elderly woman who had just tripped and fallen on the sidewalk and hurt herself and was bleeding. They dealt with that situation too until her daughter could get the car and take her to be looked at, at the hospital. She was able to return home after her injuries were seen to. If I didn’t have Life Alert, I would still be sitting there. I will never be without it again.

I am 82 years old and fell in the hallway. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get up. My husband is 100% disabled and wasn’t able to help me either. I had just joined [Life Alert] and got all my equipment tested. I never planned to use it but got it so all my people who are scattered across the country would stop worrying. Just like the commercial, everything worked like clockwork. Within minutes three firemen walked in and got me up faster than I went down. Life Alert has saved my life two times.

Life Alert has saved my life two times. Years ago, I fell out by my house and my knees were covered in snow, I could not get out. I pushed my Life Alert button and four firemen came and got me up and into the home. Another time, I lost feeling in my knees and I tripped, hitting the back of my head on a flower pot. I could not get up. I pushed the button and five paramedics came and got me up and to the hospital. I had a concussion and bruised ribs. I have told many many people over the years that if they or a relative live alone, they really need to get [Life Alert]. Life Alert talked to me until they loaded me into the ambulance.

I fell in my backyard, rather I tripped over a large root in the ground. I fell on my left side, hitting my head on the ground, breaking the left floor of my eye socket, a few ribs under my left arm and bruising my left arm from shoulder to hand. I pushed my [Life Alert] pendant (lucky for me, I had my phone with me too). The lady from Life Alert talked to me until they loaded me into the ambulance. She spoke with the EMTs and made sure I was taken care of. I was taken to a Trauma 1 hospital, as they were afraid I had a brain bleed. I can’t always be here [for my wife] so it is very reassuring that we have the Life Alert service available if we need help.

My wife accidentally slipped down to the floor from her powered lift chair. She was not injured or hurt. Anyway, she slowly slipped down out of her chair and was sitting on the floor in front of her chair. She was unable to get to a standing position. I was not home so she pushed the button on her [Life Alert] pendant. The lady who helped her was very nice, she asked if [my wife] was hurt and understood what was going on after she talked with her for a bit. The lady stayed on the line with her while the fire department guys came in, got her up and checked her out. All was ok. Life Alert responded immediately, found out what was wrong, called 911.

I was diagnosed with influenza B. I am 80 years old and have COPD and severe asthma. I am allergic to sulfa and penicillin, so my doctor asked me if I had taken a [certain medication]. I said no and he asked if I was willing to try it, so I said yes. Within a few hours, I had a throbbing headache, nausea and was vomiting. My family pushed the Life Alert button for 911. The Life Alert responded immediately, found out what was wrong, called 911 and stayed on the line with us until 911 arrived. Thank you, Life Alert. My brother, who was my caregiver at the time, has become panicky, nervous and was not much help for me. I, and my family, are very grateful to Life Alert for all they did to help me. Our records show that you were involved during the whole process of setting up your mother’s service; selecting and agreeing to the protection package and the cost; and agreeing to the terms and conditions. In addition, we have documentation showing that two months after joining the Life Alert family, you called us to ensure everything was up to date, including the card we have on file for billing. A representative reached out to you to assist in this matter and he left you a message, but you have not returned his call.

I have spoken with your rep Danielle and she still continues to steal money from my account. The account is closed now.

I will not be paying another dime for you to take advantage of my mom. You have upset her, and Danielle had the nerve to suggest that I try and scare my mother after telling me that her idea was a "piece of crap". She lied to me about sending a contract in.

Never happened. I will not recommend LA to anyone I care about.

All I can say is thank God for Life Alert.

I was coming in my back gate, carrying a meatloaf and mashed potatoes from [the store]. After I got in the gate and it closed, I don’t know if I tripped or lost my balance, but I fell straight out. I hit my head twice but didn’t pass out but I could look down at my right leg and see that it was deformed. I tried to call for help but none of my neighbors were home. Then I remembered I had my Life Alert on (Praise God!), so I pressed the button and they answered right away. I gave them all my information and told them to hurry as I was in a lot of pain. They were here within about 15 minutes. When they arrived, they gave me a shot of morphine in the arm. Nothing helped much, but they were very professional. I was crying because it hurt so much. They got me in the ambulance and to the hospital. I don’t remember anything after that but my family was notified and I had surgery the next day. All I can say is thank God for Life Alert. I hadn’t had it for very long and never thought I would need it so soon or ever. I’m trying to talk my brother-in-law to get it. He is 86 and lives right down the street from me! I fell three times, each time I contacted Life Alert. After explaining what had occurred, they called the fire department closest to me. The last time I fell, I knew something was wrong. The fire department arrived and they were unable to get me up (I had fractured my hip). Last December, I slipped on some ice. My mom had a stroke … Life Alert got the ambulance there so quickly

I found my mom paralyzed on the floor of her new independent living apartment. Thankfully, we transferred her Life Alert from her home to the senior independent facility because they don’t have a medical staff onsite for this kind of emergency. I hit the Life Alert button, the person on the other end called the ambulance and stayed with me. The ambulance arrived 10 minutes later. My mom had a stroke but because Life Alert got the ambulance there so quickly, and they started treatment right away, she recovered from the stroke. She had no signs of embolism in her brain on the MRI and no paralysis. She was just weak on the right side but PT has helped her get her strength back. My mom was told that she was paid up until the end of the year and then 2 weeks later funds were taken from her bank account.

Customer wants to return equipment and they won't give her a return address, gave her the run around on that phone and told her that she has to keep it for the specified time even though she didn't sign any contract. I'm writing this review as her daughter who was there and recorded the conversation for her protection. I plan to warn everyone I know not to use life alert.

The service and assistance was exceptional. Life Alert works very well!

I was home alone; wearing my Life Alert pendant when I fell in my living room. I notified you by pressing the button on my pendant and a gentleman with Life Alert communicated with me right away. First of all, he wanted to know if I was injured and I said no but I needed assistance to get up. They (he) dispatched our local firemen to come and help me. The fire department personnel came and stayed with me until my wife returned home. She was notified, as was my son. The service and assistance was exceptional. Life Alert works very well! If it wasn’t for my Life Alert service, I don’t know how long I would have laid on the floor until one of my kids found me.

I lost my balance and fell on my kitchen floor. I hit hard. My fall caused a chair to fall on top of me. I couldn’t move at all. I pushed my pendant and was connected with Life Alert. The representative contacted EMS and my children. I was home alone and the doors were locked. Life Alert gave EMS directions to find the key to open the door. EMS arrived quickly and Life Alert stayed on the phone with me the whole time. If it wasn’t for my Life Alert service, I don’t know how long I would have laid on the floor until one of my kids found me. I broke my femur and hip. Surgery was necessary. I pressed the button on my Life Alert when I could not get up I’m grateful to them!

Thank you so much! I had fallen after I got out of bed using my walker. I only took three steps and my left knee gave out. I pressed the button on my Life Alert when I could not get up – my knees are bad. The phone rang right away and the Life Alert person talked to me and in 10 minutes, the fellows were here (my neighbor unlocked the door). The phone person stayed on the phone - so kind- and the fellows were here asking question while taking my vitals. They were so kind to me at all times. I’m grateful to them! I don’t know if I would have survived without Life Alert’s quick response.

I am on oxygen and I live alone. I was recovering from pneumonia. One morning, I woke up and was having great difficulty breathing. I felt dizzy and could not get up and walk very much. As I was trying to catch my breath, I started coughing up a lot of pink stuff. I continued coughing and it turned into coughing up blood. I thought I was going to pass out. I knew I needed to go to the emergency room. Life Alert responded immediately and took me to the emergency room and the hospital. My heart rate was much too high also. I was admitted. I am so happy and thankful that I have Life Alert to depend on in an emergency.

About three months ago, one of our tenants was cooking something on their stove (not sure what happened), but it was a very strong smell of smoke all throughout our building hallway. It was so very strong, that the smoke was choking us as we were trying to exit the building. I had used my phone to call 911 and it went to voicemail. I was so upset that my call had went to voicemail so I had pushed my Life Alert emergency button and got help immediately. The calls dispatcher was very quick and notified the fire department and they arrived very quickly. I am so happy and thankful that I have Life Alert to depend on in an emergency.
